American with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Disability as defined in Section 3 of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. 12102). Individuals with any type of physical or mental impairment that substantially limits or restricts one or more major life activities, including walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, learning, and working. This definition includes adults with alcohol and drug abuse issues, mental retardation, hearing impairment, deaf, speech impairments, visual impairments, seriously emotionally disturbed, orthopedic impairments, other health impairment and adults with specific learning disabilities.
